Everyone has the same amount of time in a day. So how is it that some people are way more productive than others? One strategy many successful people use is something called “power hours”.
Secret to crushing your to do list
Back in the late 1990’s I attended training from the investment firm SmithBarney. After we had been trained on the products, we were taught to make cold calls. It was pretty intense. For 1 week, we made cold call after cold call. My to do list in the beginning was highly focused on prospecting. I was averaging 250 calls per day. How did I achieve those huge results?
One of the strategies they taught was to call for 45 minutes and then take a 15 minute break. It was the first time I had been introduced to a “power hour”.
By breaking the day’s activities into power hours we were able to achieve massive activity results in our hour blocks. We found we were able to create more time in our day, because these power hours made us much more productive with our time.
