Finding Your Passion is the Key To Youth
I heard an ad the other day and it made me smile. The man talking was in his 60s and was talking about when he plays soccer that the years slip away and he feels like a kid again. Listening to this made me realize it’s how I feel about swimming. When I jump in the pool and take those first few strokes I forget about everything and just enjoy the feel of the water rushing by. I feel young again. When I swim a workout set I think about my times, and the clock, and racing against myself. There are no thoughts of my day, responsibilities, or any adult things going on in my life. The kid in me is playing.
Find Your Passion
I believe everyone should do something that makes them feel like a kid. Something that makes you feel young, gives you extra energy. Find your passion that makes you forget about anything else.
For me it’s swimming. Many of my friends enjoy other activities that make them feel young. Like hockey. Or running. Or playing the piano. Or karate. Or acting. Or basketball. Or triathlons. Or tango dancing!
I believe that we are what we think about. If we do things that make us feel old, then we age more quickly. If instead we do activities that help us feel young, then we have the ability to age gracefully and more slowly.
Take time out of your life to find an activity that makes you feel young. If you can’t think of anything, then try a new activity!
I’m confident if you find an activity that makes you feel young that you will feel better and help to create a life of balance.
