Great Leaders Ask Powerful Questions
Video Transcript:
One of the best tools that leaders I’ve worked with (and for) over the years have used is to ask powerful questions.
I find that leaders at the top of their professions ask great questions of;
Their employees, their peers, their customers, their prospective customers, their friends, their family.
Asking relevant, useful and powerful questions is how they add value to others.
Powerful questions challenges others to think, and respond, in a different way than they they will on their own.
A few questions I find very powerful are:
What do you really want?
What would you do if you knew you couldn’t fail?
What is working for you right now? What is not working?
What is your biggest challenge you are facing right now? What have you done about it so far?
And this last one is not a question, but powerful nonetheless: Tell me more about that
When you ask powerful questions, are present in the conversation and really listen, you are adding value to other people
in a way that separates you from everyone else in their lives.
