Up In Your Head

Video Transcript

Sometimes I get asked “What do you mean by Up in Your Head”?

A couple of great examples of how I’ve been up in my head are:

I remember driving to an appointment, with my GPS in front of me.

I knew where I was and had the GPS as backup .

My phone rang and it was my boss, and I answered it on bluetooth.

It ended up being a long conversation, and I was fully committed to the conversation.

Which led me to completely miss my exit, even though I knew the directions AND my GPS was telling me to turn.

The second example is from the other day when my wife and I were on a walk.

I was lost in thought and my wife started talking to me.

I completely missed the first couple of sentences. Didn’t even hear them. I had to ask her to repeat them (and was up front that I was lost in thought).

It’s hard to be up in your head with busy thinking and be present.

How much are you missing out on because you are “up in your head”?
